Replacing the 12 V Battery of the Toyota Rav4 Hybrid

To replace the 12 V battery on the vehicle, follow these steps. The battery is located in the boot on the left side. First, remove the spare wheel. Then, on the left, there is a plastic cover that needs to be pried upwards to remove it. At this point, you will have access to the battery cover, which can be removed by grasping the handle on the right and lifting it. The battery is secured to the chassis with metal brackets. Use a socket spanner to remove the nuts securing the metal bracket. Once this is done, the battery will be free, so disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal.
