To replace the rear shock absorber on a Toyota Tacoma, lift the vehicle so that the corresponding rear wheel is off the ground. Once the wheel is lifted, remove it by unscrewing the mounting bolts to access the components at the rear. The shock absorber can be removed by unscrewing the bolt and washer located at its top. By also unscrewing the bolt at the bottom of the shock absorber, you can remove it and install the new replacement part.
