How to Replace the Brake Discs and Front Brake Pads on a Toyota Sequoia

To replace the brake discs and pads on a Toyota Sequoia, lift the vehicle, remove the wheel on one side, place a punch on the back of the upper pad pin, and tap it out; once the pin is removed, use a flathead screwdriver to take off the upper pad retaining clip; place a punch on the lower pin (like the upper one) to tap it out; using two flathead screwdrivers, pry so that the pad pushes the piston back in; if the brake fluid reservoir starts to overflow, bleed the brakes using a hand pump to remove some fluid. Now remove the brake pads; with a 12mm socket, unscrew the bolt holding the brake line; with a 17mm socket, unscrew the bolts holding the pad bracket; after removing the bracket, tap the disc to remove it; once the disc is off, take the new disc, clean it with brake cleaner, position it where the old one was, reinstall the pad bracket by tightening the 2 bolts with a 17mm socket, and tighten the brake line bolt with a 12mm socket; take the new pads, apply some lubricant to the sides, place them on the bracket with the friction material against the disc, reinstall the lower pin, position the upper retaining clip by inserting the pin and securing the pads; now you can put the wheel back on and perform the same operation on the other side.
