Toyota Sequoia - Video tutorial

Model: Toyota Sequoia Xk30, Xk40 - Years 2001-2007
Part: Brake discs
Operation: How to change brake discs and front brake pads on Toyota Sequoia

To replace the Toyota Sequoia brake discs and pads, we lift the car, remove the wheel on one side, place a push pin at the rear of the upper pad pin and tap it out; once the pin has been removed, with a slotted screwdriver, remove the upper stop of the pads; we place a push rod on the lower pin (like the upper one), to extract it with taps; with the help of two slotted screwdrivers we leverage so that the pad sends the piston inside; if the brake fluid reservoir starts to fill up too much, we bleed the brakes using a hand pump to remove some fluid. Now we remove the brake pads; with a 12 socket wrench we unscrew the bolt that holds the brake pipe; with a 17 socket wrench, we unscrew the bolts holding the pad bracket; once the bracket has been removed, we tap the disc to remove it; removed the disc, take the new disc, pass it some disc cleaner, position it in place of the old one, position the pad bracket by tightening the 2 bolts with a 17 socket wrench, screw the tube bolt with a socket wrench from 12; we take the new pads, spread some lubricating paste on the sides, put them on the bracket with the friction material on the disc, put the lower pin back, position the upper stop by inserting the pin and let the pads hook up; now we can put the wheel back and do the same thing on the other side.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
