To replace the alternator on a Toyota 4Runner, open the hood to access the components inside the engine compartment. On the right side, you will find the battery, which must be disconnected from its cables so you can then remove the securing screws of the alternator.

The alternator is located to the left of the engine block and must be removed after moving the serpentine belt. This will allow you to insert the new alternator, positioning the belt and securing it with the appropriate screws.
