Instructions for Removing Water Pump

Model: Toyota Yaris Xp10 - Years 1999-2005

If you need to replace the water pump, allow the engine to cool to avoid burns from contact with the coolant. To comfortably access the water pump, which is driven by the auxiliary belt (along with the alternator, air conditioning compressor, and power steering pump), you must remove the side engine mount. Once the mount is removed, note the routing of the auxiliary belt around the various pulleys before removing it by loosening the tensioning bolt of the alternator. Then proceed to remove the water pump pulley and then the pump itself.
