Operation: How does the adaptive speed control of the Toyota CHR work?

To activate the adaptive cruise control on the Toyota CHR, we need to operate the lever located to the right on the steering column, below the steering wheel. By pressing the button at the top of this lever, we will activate the radar that adjusts the distance from the preceding vehicle, as confirmed by the dashboard display. Pressing the lever downwards sets the cruise control to the current speed at which we are traveling. If we want to increase this value, we move it upwards; if we want to decrease it, we move it downwards. Another parameter that we can adjust is the distance from the preceding vehicle, and to do this, we will use the button located on the right spoke of the steering wheel, which features an icon of a car with a radar in front. If we pull the lever towards ourselves, we disable the cruise control while still maintaining distance control. If we need to overtake the preceding vehicle, we can do so by pressing the gas pedal, passing the car, returning to our lane, and when we release the accelerator, the car will return to the set speed. If we need to brake, the speed control will deactivate.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
