Shock Absorber Mount Replacement

Model: Toyota Yaris Xp10 - Years 1999-2005

If you hear noise coming from the upper suspension arms and notice some resistance in the steering return, it is likely that the shock absorber mounts are damaged. To replace them, you need to remove the front shock absorber and use appropriate clamps to compress the spring. Lift the vehicle on a ramp, remove the front wheel, move the cable guides away from the shock absorber, and unscrew the bolts that secure it to the hub mount. Then, access the engine bay and unscrew the mounting nuts of the support from the body strut to extract the shock absorber from its seat. Apply the clamps to compress the spring and remove the mount from the shaft, then install the new one.
