When to Change the Timing Belt on the Toyota Rav4 Diesel

The timing belt should be replaced every 75,000 miles or every 5 years, as its failure could cause irreparable damage to the engine. To carry out this maintenance, first create enough working space by removing the ABS control unit, the power steering oil reservoir, the engine side mount, the auxiliary belt, and the power steering pump. At this point, you can remove the timing belt covers, align the timing marks, and proceed with the replacement (it is advisable to also change the water pump).
