Here are the signs to consider that indicate it's time to change the brake pads: when you hear a squeal caused by metal rubbing, produced by the metal of the pad scraping against the disc. If you feel vibrations in the pedal or steering wheel, it means there are warped discs or unevenly worn pads. If, after a normal brake application, you smell burning, it indicates that your pads are overheating and losing effectiveness. If you notice an increase in stopping distance: worn pads.
