European pollution regulations have allowed the optional and then mandatory addition of various anti-pollution systems such as AdBlue, START&STOP, DPS, FAP, and many others. Today, we will specifically discuss the START&STOP system, which turns off and on the car when you are stationary but the engine is running, such as when you are stopped at a traffic light. This reduces CO2 emissions. Unfortunately, the START&STOP system has some noticeable drawbacks. For instance, the starter motor in cars with this system is subjected to greater strain, which will lead to its replacement in a shorter time compared to cars without this anti-pollution system. Another important component that will wear out quickly is the battery, which will be in constant charge and discharge. As we know, the battery charges while the car is running, but with the START&STOP system, the battery will not have a continuous charge but will charge in bursts. This system can be temporarily disabled using the button usually located on the central dashboard or by modifying the ECU.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?
