Reasons why Start & Stop does not work and a trick to make it work

The Start & Stop system activates when certain conditions are met, such as: the vehicle is stationary, the seatbelt is fastened, the gearbox is in neutral, and the clutch pedal is released. If it does not stop (and it is a diesel vehicle), it is likely that regeneration is taking place at that moment; the vehicle does not stop precisely because of this. Stopping would damage it, so it does not stop. Alternatively, it may not stop because it believes the battery is not sufficiently charged. This could be true, or the battery 'thinks' so. To reset it, the best approach is to remove the measuring sensor located on the negative terminal. You will need to have the radio code handy, but it is worth trying. Keep it disconnected for about twenty minutes, and then, if there are no other issues, the problem should resolve.
