To ensure the engine of the Volkswagen Polo receives a constant flow of clean air, you must replace the air filter at the intervals specified in the maintenance schedule. To do this, open the bonnet of the engine compartment.

Using pliers, release the clips on the inlet and outlet hoses to the air filter housing and remove them, also remove the valve connector, extract the filter box and rotate it. Using a cross-head screwdriver, unscrew the screws that secure the cover, open it and remove the old filter, replacing it with a new one, then close the cover and secure it with its screws.

Reposition the filter box, reconnect the hoses and the valve.
