Follow this guide to remove the fuel pump assembly from a Volkswagen Passat. First, disconnect the battery cables, then remove the rear seat from the car. You will find various wiring and a metal piece with screws; this is what you need to remove. Unscrew the securing screws of the metal cap and take it off. Wrap the entire perimeter of the metal sheet with absorbent paper or cloth, then use a screwdriver to unscrew the large bolt around the pump. Disconnect the power connectors and the liquid circulation pipes. Finally, extract the fuel pump assembly.
