Let's see the defect of the old pump, which apparently worked because it continued to rotate externally, but was blocked internally: the plastic pulley inside was stuck and therefore the water temperature rose. Remember that when changing the belt, it is always advisable to change the pump as well, even if it appears to be in good condition, because if we then have to change only the pump, we will be forced to change the belt as well, because the work will be the same.
