The timing belt of the Volkswagen Golf 7 1.6 TDI must be replaced every 120,000 km, or every six years. Regardless of this rule set by the manufacturer, it is always good to periodically check, as explained in the attached video, the condition of the aforementioned belt, as it may show signs of wear even before the expected expiration date, in order to intervene promptly and avoid serious damage to the engine.

Many people also choose to replace, along with the belt in question, the water pump and the accessory belt.
