Below we will see the main information regarding the disassembly and replacement of the timing belt of the Volkswagen Golf 2.0 TDI. First, we open the hood and start by removing the coolant reservoir and the engine support found on the top left; we lift the car and remove the right front wheel, then we remove the crankshaft pulley and disconnect the V-belt. At this point, it will be possible to remove the distribution cover and the belt, replacing it with the new original one; if necessary, we also replace the water pump kit.
