How to Change the Spark Plugs on a Volkswagen Golf VI

Let's see how to change the spark plugs on a Golf VI: for safety, it is advisable to disconnect the battery. Remove the engine cover and disconnect the connectors from the coils; gently pull them out and clean the sockets to prevent dirt from falling into the cylinders. Now insert a 16 mm socket with an extension and unscrew counterclockwise. Extract the spark plug vertically. Install the new spark plug by applying a thin layer of anti-seize grease only on the threads; grease the terminal with silicone grease, and hand-tighten the spark plug. Tighten the spark plug to 25 Nm; repeat with the others, then reinsert the coils into their sockets and reconnect the electrical connectors. Refit the engine cover and reconnect the battery. Start the engine to check.
