How do you remove the thermostat from your car? In this guide, learn how to remove the thermostat fitted to a Volkswagen Golf Mk3. Unscrew the bolts of the thermostat housing as shown in the video and (use a socket wrench with the appropriate sockets) remove the sealing cap from the housing and extract the coolant thermostat. Insert the new part and close it with the housing cap. Tighten the bolts securely and you are done. Ensure that you have correctly inserted and fitted the valve in the appropriate housing. Test the correct operation of the car after fitting.
