How do you open the front bonnet of a Volkswagen Passat? Here’s how to access the engine bay. Pull the lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, lift the bonnet slightly and move the release lever. Once the bonnet is released, lift it upwards and secure it with the prop rod. You can perform necessary maintenance inside the engine bay. After maintenance, close the front bonnet: remove the safety rod and let the bonnet drop down from a minimal height. Check the bonnet and ensure it is closed properly.
