How to Replace the Battery on a Volkswagen Golf Plus

Replacing the battery on a Volkswagen Golf Plus is a straightforward task as it is easily accessible within the engine bay. Before starting, disconnect the keys from the ignition and turn off any electronic devices in the car, including the radio. Once all electronic devices are off, proceed to remove the battery. The battery is located in the engine bay, protected by a removable cover that reveals the terminals. After removing the cover, you will have access to the two power terminals, which are connected by two cables secured with bolts. To disconnect the terminals, loosen the bolts, starting with the negative terminal marked with a "minus" symbol. Once both terminals are disconnected, loosen the securing bolt usually located on the lower left side next to the intake hose, and you can then remove the battery from the engine bay. After removing the old battery, insert the new one and reconnect everything in the reverse order of disassembly. It may also happen that after replacement, some car parameters like the clock may be incorrect and can be reset by accessing the onboard menu through the instrument cluster.
