Dismantling the Outer Door Panel

Model: Volkswagen Jetta MK 5, A5 - Years 2005-2010

You can remove the outer door trim as if it were a fairing, similar to the case of the Smart. However, the first step is to remove the outer handle: once the door is open, along the side edge, near the lock, there is a rubber cover that conceals some fastening pins of the panel in question. Remove this cover by simply pulling it off: at the handle height, there is a hole to access and unscrew the fastening screw of the handle; once the screw is loosened, the handle comes away. At this point, you can unscrew all the fastening screws of the panel located along the entire edge of the door.
