Replacement of Clutch Cable

Model: Volkswagen Maggiolino MK 1 - Years 1938-1980

Remember that the Beetle has a rear engine, so the clutch cable runs from the pedal to the rear engine compartment, passing through the central tunnel. To replace it, you must remove the pedal assembly to attach the eyelet at one end of the cable to the designated hook on the pedal. Grease the steel cable generously and thread it into the designated sheath until it reaches the adjuster on the gearbox. Reassemble the pedal assembly and carry out the adjustment, avoiding excessive tension on the cable to prevent burning out the clutch.
