Operation: Timing camshaft replacement

Replacing the camshaft is a job reserved for specialists as it requires experience and adequate and dedicated equipment. Once the valve cover has been removed, start removing the return pulley with the special extractor. Then remove the five U-bolts that hold the camshaft using a ratchet wrench. The camshaft can now be removed. Replace the shaft supports which must then be previously lubricated with the specific product. Now it is possible to insert the new camshaft on the supports in the right position. Refit the sealing U-bolts and the toothed pulley.

How to set the time on the Peugeot 308
