Camshaft and Tappet Installation

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

Thoroughly lubricate the valve guide tappets and the tappets themselves with clean oil before inserting them into their respective seats; similarly, lubricate the sliding surfaces of the camshaft, then position the camshaft and secure it with the relevant brackets after lubricating them, tightening the fixing bolts with a torque wrench following a cross-tightening pattern; then lubricate the oil seal seat and insert it with the sealing lip facing inwards; apply the fixing key of the toothed pulley and secure the pulley to the camshaft by tightening the fixing bolt; finally, align the timing marks and install the timing belt.
