Replacing the Fuel Filter

Model: Volkswagen Bora MK 6 - Years 1998-2005
Part: Diesel fuel filter

Open the front bonnet and locate the fuel filter: it is situated at the front left (when facing the engine bay), in front of the coolant reservoir. Use pliers to widen the clips on the hoses connected to the filter (the front ones, closest to the wing) and disconnect them; remove the retaining pin from the other two hoses and slide them off. Loosen the retaining clip of the filter and remove it. Fill the new filter with additive: this will facilitate starting and clean the entire injection system. Replace the O-ring and lubricate it, insert the filter into its housing, and reconnect the hoses, securing them with the respective clips and pins.
