How to Remove the Fan Resistor on a Volkswagen New Beetle

Model: Volkswagen New Beetle MK 2, 9C - Years 1999-2012

Is the fan causing operational issues? Here’s how to remove the resistor. Use a lever to remove the plastic cover under the glove compartment on the right, then unscrew the securing screws of the drawer (where the fan is located). Remove the drawer and then the cover underneath it. Unscrew the securing screws to access the fan. Disconnect the large electrical connector from the fan, then extract the resistor connected to the protective plastic. Insert a new fan resistor (connect the power connector). Finally, refit the cover and tighten the screws.
