How to Remove Radio on VW Golf 5

Want to replace the radio? Here’s how to remove the covering pieces and the radio from the Golf. Remove (by prying) the plastic trim above the dashboard (disconnect the electrical cable). Detach the glove compartment from the dashboard, then unscrew the panel with the air vents using a screwdriver. Pull off the frame at the top and bottom of the radio, unscrew the fastening screws around the perimeter, and carefully extract the radio from its housing, taking care not to damage the wiring. Replace the radio with a new one or reinstall the same after having it repaired.
