How to Replace the Serpentine Belt on a Volkswagen Passat

Before you begin, lift the front of your Volkswagen Passat and then remove the front right wheel. Start by unscrewing and removing the screws that secure the lower wheel arch section, then detach and remove the wheel arch itself. Once done, loosen the tensioner that keeps the auxiliary belt under tension. This will free the serpentine belt. Proceed to remove the belt, and you will have completed the disassembly. To fit the new belt, follow these instructions in reverse, and the replacement will be finished.
