Replacing the Thermostat on a VW Jetta

Model: Volkswagen Jetta MK 3, A3 - Years 1991-1998

Is the car's thermostat malfunctioning? Let's remove the coolant thermostat from the engine bay. Lift the car using a suitable jack or column lift. Unscrew the bolts located on either side of the thermostat and the screws directly on the mounting part (use a socket wrench with the appropriate sockets). Remove the faulty part from the engine bay. Once the part is removed, replace it with a new one of the same size. Tighten the bolts securely and you're done. Ensure the thermostat is correctly fitted back in the engine bay, and reconnect the various hoses for proper operation.
