Windshield replacement is a delicate and dangerous operation. To prevent accidental breakage of the glass during removal, it is advisable to protect the interior of the car with covers in order to prevent glass splinters from spreading, even entering the interstices of the ventilation system. Also use suitable hand and eye protection. We begin by lowering the glass of the front windows, then with a sturdy plastic tool we begin to remove the gasket and moldings around the glass. Once the bonnet has been opened, remove the wiper mechanism to remove it. Unscrew the screws holding the air intake grille and remove it, also removing the fan motor connector. Remove the covers of the two uprights by undoing the screws hidden behind the plastic caps. Also protect the engine air intakes and continue lifting the windshield to remove it. It is advisable to carry out this operation with the special suction cups. With a tool, carefully clean the edge of the residues of the old gasket. Silicone with the special mastic the edge of the new glass that you will place on the car using the suction cups. Place the appropriate shims along the edge of the glass to position it in the correct position. Finish sealing. Reassemble the camera and finish with the moldings.
