This guide will show you the procedure necessary for removing and replacing the alternator on a Volkswagen Polo 9N with a 1.2 3-cylinder engine. First, open the engine bonnet of your car and start by removing the engine cover; then loosen the belt tensioner to remove the belt, as illustrated in the video. At this point, unscrew the 16 mm nut from the tensioner to remove it; then unscrew the alternator bolts using a 13 mm spanner. You can then remove the alternator and replace it with the new one!
