How to replace the alternator on a Volkswagen Polo?

To replace the alternator on a Volkswagen Polo, open the bonnet and locate the alternator on the left side of the engine block: first, loosen the nut on the tensioner pulley for the V-belt. This can then be removed from the alternator pulley, which can now be taken out of its place by loosening the fixing bolts: at this point, you can completely remove the alternator from its location so that you can insert the new replacement part. After replacement, refit the V-belt, ensuring everything works correctly.
