Replacing Brake Pads

Model: Volkswagen New Beetle MK 2, 9C - Years 1999-2012

This video tutorial shows the procedure for replacing the brake pads on a Volkswagen New Beetle. The wheel has already been removed and the vehicle has been lifted. Unscrew the long piston-shaped bolt with a 15 mm spanner. After removing the brake caliper (you may need to use a hammer) and moving it aside, extract the old worn pads and replace them with two new ones of the same type. Before installation, clean any grease and dust residues with a brush. Lubricate the components with copper grease, being careful not to grease the disc. Refit the bracket, cleaning and lubricating the fixing screws, then tighten them with a 15 mm spanner. Refit the caliper. Realign the piston by pushing it inwards and check the pads' adherence to the disc. Once finished, top up the brake fluid.
