How to Replace the Steering Track Rod Ends on the Volkswagen Golf

In this video tutorial, you will see how to replace the steering track rod ends on the Volkswagen Golf. The first step is to lift the front of the vehicle with a hydraulic jack and place safety stands; then remove the front wheels using a 17mm socket to unscrew the bolts. Once the wheel is removed, clean the fastening element that connects the track rod ends to the steering knuckle. Memorise the exact position of the ball joint to avoid misalignment during reassembly. Unscrew the nut connecting the stem to the steering knuckle. Clean the mounting seats of the track rod ends with a wire brush. Connect the track rod stem to the steering knuckle. Clean the surface of the brake disc with brake cleaner. Lower the car and tighten the wheel bolts.
