Replacing the Engine Air Filter

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005
Part: Air filter

The engine air filter is located at the front left of the engine bay (when viewed from the front): to lift the cover and remove the old filter, disconnect the intake ducts (these are two rectangular plastic tubes with a bellows section); once the ducts are removed, unscrew the fixing screws of the cover, unclip the bayonet clips, and lift the cover, remove the old filter and insert the new one, reversing the process for securing the cover (screws and clips) and repositioning the intake ducts.
