How to Replace the Thermostat on the Volkswagen Golf 5?

To replace the thermostat on the Volkswagen Golf 5, open the bonnet to remove the cover from the top of the engine block. Under this plastic cover, there will be a valve next to the oil dipstick that needs to be freed from its fixing screws. This will allow you to move the pipe located in this position, giving access to the components below: here is the thermostat, which can be removed from its housing by unscrewing the bolts; this will allow you to install the new replacement part.
