To replace the rear light bulb in a Volkswagen Polo, open the boot lid and move the carpet inside the boot to access the light. Unscrew the retaining screw underneath to remove the light by disconnecting the connector at the back.

This allows you to open the light and replace the bulbs inside with new replacement parts. After replacing, reconnect the light to the connector and secure it back in its housing.
