To replace the rear light bulb on a Volkswagen Polo, open the tailgate and then detach the side trim of the boot, corresponding to the light: beneath the trim, you will find the screw that secures the light unit in place. Fully loosen this screw and pull out the light. Once removed, you can open it and extract the bulb inside; the new bulb can then be inserted into the light unit, closing it and securing it back into its housing.
