Replacement of Rear Discs and Pads

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

Once you have lifted the vehicle, remove the rear wheel and the brake caliper; extract the old pads and also remove the caliper bracket; then unscrew the disc retaining bolt and take it off the hub; clean the disc seat on the hub with a wire brush and apply grease; clean the disc of any protective oil residues and install it on the hub, tightening the corresponding retaining bolt; retract the caliper piston using the appropriate tool; clean the brake support, apply the new sliding shims for the pads, lubricate the caliper retaining bolts, and complete the installation.
