Check Oil Pressure Sensor Functionality

There are specific tools available to check the correct functioning of the engine oil pressure sensor (commonly known as the bulb): it is very important that the sensor operates correctly as maintaining the correct pressure level within the engine ensures proper lubrication. First, intercept the wires connected to the bulb: the yellow wire is connected to the warning light and the buzzer and detects a pressure slightly below one atmosphere at 2000 rpm; the blue wire activates the warning light if the pressure is below 0.3 atmospheres; connecting the warning light to the yellow wire should keep it illuminated below 2000 rpm; connecting the warning light to the blue wire should keep it off when the engine is off and it must remain off when the engine is running.
