The cabin air filter in a Volkswagen Passat B6 is located on the passenger side, behind the glove compartment. Fortunately, it is not necessary to remove the entire glove compartment to replace the filter because access to the box containing it is located at the bottom, behind the upper trim carpet. Move the passenger seat back and remove this layer to access the filter box. Remove the cover, take out the filter, and replace it with the new one, ensuring it is inserted in the correct direction.
