Replacing the timing belt on a car is a rather complex task; here are general guidelines for the replacement, also aided by the video. First, lift the vehicle and remove the soundproofing panels under the engine, remove the right wheel and the inner wheel arch lining, take off the upper engine cover, and disconnect the fuel inlet and return lines. Also, remove the fuel filter and its bracket, take out the coolant reservoir, and begin removing the upper timing cover. Next, remove the bolt from the crankshaft pulley and then the lower cover. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise to the top dead centre and lock the camshaft and crankshaft with a pin to prevent losing the engine timing when removing the belt. Finally, to extract the belt, loosen the tensioner.
