To replace the engine oil temperature sensor on the Volkswagen Golf, access the underside of the car, specifically in the area where the oil drain plug is located. Unscrew the drain plug, allowing all the used oil to flow into a suitably positioned container; once the oil has completely drained, unscrew the screws securing the oil temperature sensor next to it, after disconnecting the connector. Once removed, connect the new sensor, secure it, and add the new oil.
