How to replace the oil and oil filter on the Volkswagen Routan

To replace the oil and oil filter on the Volkswagen Routan, start by putting the front of the car on ramps. Go under the vehicle and locate the oil drain plug under the oil pan. Use a 13 mm socket wrench to unscrew it and let the oil drain into a container below, keeping the fill cap slightly open. Once the oil has drained, reinstall the oil drain plug. Now, go to the top of the engine, disconnect the air filter connector, and use an 8 mm socket wrench to loosen the screws holding the air tube in place, then remove it. After removing the air tube, you can unscrew the oil filter with a 16 mm socket wrench and take it off. After removing the oil filter, detach it from the cap, remove the gasket from the cap, attach the new oil filter to the cap, replace the new gasket on the cap, and screw it back in place. Reinstall the air tube by tightening the clamps and reconnect the connector. Now, open the oil fill cap, insert a funnel into the hole, pour in the amount of oil specified by the manufacturer. When you are close to the indicated amount, check the level using the dipstick (the check should be done the second time you pull out the dipstick). If necessary, add more oil; otherwise, if the oil is at the "max" mark, the operation is complete, and you can close the oil fill cap.
