Replacing the Front Headlight on a Volkswagen Golf

Let's see how to replace the front headlight unit on a Volkswagen Golf. Open the engine bay and unscrew the two screws located on either side of the horizontal grille, which we will remove after releasing the retaining clips. Using a plastic or wooden lever, remove the plastic trim located on the bumper, beneath the headlight. Now, unscrew three screws that secure the headlight: the first is located at the top near the drip tray, the second at the bottom, inside, near the radiator. The third can be found in the hole revealed by removing the bumper trim. We can now remove the headlight by disconnecting the electrical connector. Place the new headlight and repeat the steps in reverse.
