When the ignition key is inserted into the ignition lock and is not recognised, the immobiliser activates, preventing the engine from starting: to resolve the issue, it may be necessary to reset the immobiliser. To do this, open the bonnet to access the battery: disconnect it by removing both terminals.

The battery cables should remain disconnected for about fifteen minutes: at this point, reconnect the cables, ensuring that the device has been reset.
