Volkswagen Polo - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Polo Polo V, MK V, 6R, Polo 5, MK 5 - Years 2009-2017
Part: Battery
Operation: Battery replacement for the Volkswagen Polo

When the battery of the Volkswagen Polo is discharged and does not hold up to subsequent attempts to recharge it, we need to replace it. To do this, we open the hood, we will find the battery on the driver's side, with a 10mm key we start by unscrewing the negative pole clamp, then we proceed to unscrew the positive one together with the entire plate. With a 13mm key, we unscrew the fixing bracket at the base of the battery, allowing us to remove the battery, along with its side protection. We take the new battery and mount the protection that we have retrieved from the old one, insert it into the housing, reattach the bracket without tightening it completely. We reconnect the positive terminal, securing its plate, also attach the negative one and finally tighten the bracket securely.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
