To deactivate the automatic door lock on the Volkswagen Golf, turn on the instrument panel and then navigate to the menu that appears on the display in the centre of the dashboard: here, select the "Setup" option at the bottom right of the screen and scroll through the menu that appears to select the option with the padlock icon.

At this point, a screen will appear where you can check or uncheck the option that determines the automatic door lock.

Once the check is removed, the lock will be deactivated and you can turn off the instrument panel.
