Instructions for Replacing the Diesel Filter

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Diesel fuel filter

If you experience engine performance issues and possibly some smoke from the exhaust, the fuel filter may be clogged; replacing it is very simple: the filter is located along the edge of the right front wing (passenger side), between the windscreen washer reservoir and the radiator; disconnect the pipes and loosen the support clip; then insert the new filter and you can also fill it with injector cleaning additive before reconnecting the pipes to perform a cleaning of the circuit.
