Removing Car Radio for Repair

Model: Volkswagen Jetta MK 5, A5 - Years 2005-2010

Using a plastic tool to avoid damaging the bodywork, lever the air grille of the dashboard and remove it from its housing. Unscrew the retaining screw in the compartment and remove it completely, using the plastic tool for assistance. Unscrew the two screws now accessible beneath the compartment and also remove the frame, including the air vents, taking care with the connected electrical wires. Move the vents aside to easily access the retaining screws of the radio console that need to be removed. Gently remove the plastic frame of the console and take out the other four retaining screws. Remove the car radio and disconnect all electrical wiring connectors. Reconnect the connectors to the new radio and place it back in the compartment, taking care not to pinch the wires. Reattach the dashboard screws, remount the air vent, and reposition the grille. Turn on the radio and tune to a station to verify proper operation.
